Koh Larn Scooters: How to Rent on Pattaya's Nearest Island

Koh Larn is the small coral island 7 km off Pattaya, reached by passenger ferry from Bali Hai pier (45 minutes, 30 THB) or by speedboat (15 minutes, 250+ THB). It's a popular day trip — white-sand beaches, clear water, and a complete escape from Pattaya's urban sprawl. Unlike Railay or Koh Phangan, Koh Larn does have scooter rental on the island itself, but the rental market is small, expensive, and not well-regulated.

**The better strategy for most visitors: leave your Skoot-rented Pattaya scooter at the Bali Hai pier paid lot and take the ferry as a foot passenger.** Once on Koh Larn, you can rent a scooter on the island for the day (around 200-300 THB) or just use songthaews to get around the six small beaches. Bringing your Pattaya scooter on the ferry is possible on the car ferry but rarely worth the hassle.

If you're spending more than one day on Koh Larn, renting on the island makes sense. If you're day-tripping, foot passenger + island songthaew is cheaper and simpler.
